Are we in the Good Friday of our Lives?

Jesus came into this world to give us life. His death on the cross and resurrection was meant to earn heaven for us. Jesus is God and he could have earned heaven for us in any other way but he chose to do it only through the cross because that was the correct way of doing it. Even though he was God he submitted himself to a very humiliating death on the cross because of his love for each one of us. He allowed himself to be scourged, spat on, crowned with thorns and cruxified alive only because of his love for each one of us.  In the gospel of Luke 9:23 Jesus said “If anyone wants to be my disciple let him carry his cross and follow me”. The cross and cruxifiction is the trade mark of every Christian and it separates Christianity from other religions.  What is our attitude towards suffering and the crosses in our daily life? Receive the Holy Eucharist on the tongue only

  The Holy Eucharist contains the sacred body of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are not worthy to touch the Holy Eucharist. St. Thomas Aquinas famous doctor of the Catholic Church said “Only that what is consecrated should touch the consecrated”. Many people receive the Holy Eucharist on their hands. This tradition of receiving on the hands started due to the fear of viruses being transmitted from person to person during the distribution of the Holy Eucharist. But COVID 19 taught us that even if you receive the Holy Eucharist on the hand you can still fall sick and die. You can die even out of accidents or heart attacks or old age. So the fear of transmission of viruses during distribution of Holy Eucharist is not a valid fear. On the contrary we are violating the first commandment when we place our health over reverence for our God.
